Will of Gibson Sloan

  State of North Carolina Duplin County Bk. 4 page 5 In the name of God Amen I Gibson SLOAN of the State of North Carolina Duplin County, being of sound mind and memory bless be to God for it, I do this day ordain and constitute this my last will and Testament in manner as follows- Item first, I want all my just debts paid. Item 2nd: I give and bequeath to my three sons David H. SLOAN, Henry P. SLOAN, & Ransom H. SLOAN all of my individual lands, I also give to my two daughters Celia SLOAN and Sarah J. SLOAN an equal share of the incomes of my lands so long as they mind to live on it. Item 3rd: I want all of my entire stock sold on a six months credit and the proceeds equally divided between all of children namely Celia SLOAN, Civil GRANT, Indianna ROCHELLE, Mary COLE, Sarah J. SLOAN, David W. SLOAN, Henry P. SLOAN and Ransom H. SLOAN. Item 4th: I want all of my house hold and kitchen furniture and farming implements sold on the same above terms and the proceeds equally divided between all of my above named children. Item 5th: I give to my son David W. SLOAN my house and equal share of the lands around the house. Item 6th: I request Edward ARMSTRONG of Hallsville to be Executor to this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof, I the aforesaid Gibson SLOAN hath hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this the 18th day of January 1867.
