The information comes almost exclusively from "North Carolina Troops", volume XII. Here is an exerpt from Kirk's email to me: I have been researching the 51st Regiment North Carolina Troops and have compiled quite a bit of information about the unit. I am attaching a Word document that lists all the members of the regiment that either were born in Duplin County or were residing in Duplin County at the time of their enlistment.
