I am searching for info on Stephen Brown, he is said to be from Duplin County. He married Mary?, she is also reported to be from Duplin County. They migrated to Montgomery County Indiana somewhere around 1840-1850. They are my great-great-grandparents. My great grandfather James M. Brown was born in 1848. Mary's surname possibly Magee. Hellow I'm Dale Bolick from alexander Co N.C. My grandmother was a Hall. Her grandfather was James Elbert Hall. His mothers name was Melinda. James was born in 1831 in Alexander Co. The story goes Melinda and a nother girl came to Alexander Co from another Co. Melinda was said to have met a man by the name Miller and got with child they were to be married but he got killed in an accident.She may have been pregnant whe she came I don't know.Any way I'm trying to find who her father was and where they came from.There are hundreds of Halls here that came from her.Does this ring a bell with anyone?I know it's a long shot but who knows Thanks for any help daleb@twave.net
