According to work by William L. Murphy on file at the J. Y. Joyner Library, Greenville, NC, "Thomas Green made his will 1760. Wife, Elizabeth; sons, John, Joseph, Thomas, Jr.; daughters, Ann, Elizabeth, and Sarah; son-in-law, Benjamin Hooker; Dau.-in-law, Hannah Green." Thomas, Sr., is believed to be the son of Farnifold Green, Sr., and we are trying to determine if Thomas, Jr., is the Thomas Green of Duplin Co., father of John, Lott, and Rueben, also of Duplin Co. Any information on Thomas, Sr., Thomas, Jr., or any of the above most appreciated.

Searching for family of Margaret E. POWELL and Joseph JUSTICE. Would be especially interested in any information regarding Margaret POWELL's parents. I believe she had a brother named Willie POWELL as he and Cullen POWELL (my gg grandfather's brother) were witnesses on her marriage certificate. They were married in Faison on Feb. 15, 1880. They lived most of thier life in Sampson Co. and are buried in the POWELL family cemetery just north of Warsaw. The cemetery is located off Hwy. 117 on George Garner Rd. (NC 1344) and is situated in a wooded area off a dirt road leading to a hog farm. Any information regarding Margaret's POWELL heritage would be greatly appreciated as I believe she holds a key piece to my POWELL family puzzle.

Searching for any and all POWELL relatives in from Duplin County. I am primarily working on the family of John POWELL and Dicey EZZELL (married 1847). There children were: James, John Andrew (my GG Grandfather), Cullen, Catherine (never married), Lessie, Charles, Eliza (never married), Cornelia, and Harriet. John Andrew married Mary EZZELL. Cullen married Martha EZZELL, Cornelia married Buck H. EZZELL, Harriet married William S. EZZELL, Lessie married James O. Henderson, Charles (I believe) married Betsy Brock. Several members of this family are buried in the Powell family cemetery just north of Warsaw. The cemetery is located off Hwy. 117 on George Garner Rd. (NC 1344). It is located in a wooded area off a dirt road leading to a hog farm. The cemetery is fairly visible as family members have cleared out underbrush in recent years. Other family names buried in the cemetery are GUY, DUNCAN, JUSTICE, and COOK. This particular cemetery is not listed in any of the published cemetery books for Duplin Co. though it contains several graves. I will be glad to share info on this family as well as cemetery listing to all interested persons.

Looking for information on the family of William BEHURST (also spelled B.HURST) originally BROADHURST. William BEHURST married Frankey HARVILLE in 1787 in Fauquier County, VA, and moved to Duplin County, NC, shortly afterwards. They had five known sons: James, 1788; Samuel, 1790; William, 1795; and twins John/Jack and Joseph, 1798. The elder William BEHURST died in 1826 in Duplin County. Any information on anyone connected with this family would be greatly appreciated. Would be glad to share what little I know of Samuel's descendents.
