Hello, I am searching for any information available regarding Nero and/or Rachel KORNEGAY. They were slaves in Duplin County whose children purchased 110 acres of land from Perry JENKINS on December 18, 1906, started a farm in Jones County.

Nero had a son named William who was born in 1860, a second son, Judge, was born in 1870, a son, Nero Lemuel, and two daughters, Goldias and Cydy.

Although the name is spelled KORNEGAY, it's pronounced Kuh-nig-ee, throughout North Carolina. Therefore, the original spelling could have been KORNIGEY, KORNEGEY or KORNEGY.

Once again, I would be grateful for any minute particle of information. Thank You

I am researching HOLLANDs in Duplin County. The names I am looking for are Willis J. Holland married to Rebeccah Hines. They are in the Duplin county census for the years 1850-1870. Their children were Mary E. Holland, John Wesley Holland, and Wilson H. Holland. I would like to exchange information about this line. I am also interested in the Hines side. I believe Rebeccah Hines' mother might be Nelly Hines.
