I am researching several different lines that lead me to Duplin County: 1) I am the ggranddaughter of Eckford C. Whaley and Daisy Adell Carter. Eckford and Daisy are listed in the 1910, North Carolina Census for Duplin County. Eckford and Daisy were born around 1880, and married about 1900. My grandfather, Prentice Whaley, was born in 1922. He was the baby of the famiy. Some of his siblings are: Melvin, George, Fannie, Glennie, Herman/Hammond, and Thurman. Any information on the parents of Eckford Whaley, or Daisy Carter would be greatly appreciated. 2) I am the gggggranddaughter of Benjamin/Bennett Dunn and Dicey Webb. Does any one know who their parents are? 3) Does any one out there know the name of Micheal Campbell Sullivan's mother? His father was John Sullivan Sr., and his mother an Unknown Campbell. Does any one know Micheal's wife's last name? Her first name is Mildred. 4) I am a decendant of Elisha Jones and Catherine Winders, parents of Sara "Sallie" Jones who married James Sullivan. Does any one have information on the parents of Elisha Jones? 5) I am also decended from George W. Kornegay who married Clarissa Rouse. I have heard that his father was William Kornegay II. A George W. Kornegay is mentioned in William Kornegay II will, but I'am not sure it is the same. Does any one know?

A great-great-grandfather of mine, Lawrence O'Kane (or Kane), died of typhoid fever at Faison's Station in late March or early April, 1865, while serving in the 13th Penna. Cavalry. His military records have no burial information and I have not found him listed among those buried in national cemeteries in Raleigh, Wilmington or smaller cemeteries in the region. I would really appreciate help from anyone who knows if there was/is a cemetery in Faison and if any Union soldiers were/are interred there. Thanks, Jim Panaro Hollywood, FL
