Searching for info on William PARADISE who married Sabrina Darden 17 Oct 1796 in Duplin Co., NC. Tennessee history states that two brothers came from NC to TN abt 1805. They built homes along a ridge now known as Paradise Ridge in Joelton, TN. TN land records reflect brother may have been John. John moved on but the descendants of William remained till after the Civil War. The former home is now the center part of the Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton, TN and the former home of my GGGGGGrandfather. Any info on the Paradise family would be welcome.

My distant cousin, John Vick, and I are seeking any information we can obtain on a John VICK that is listed in the 1790 census of Duplin County, N. C. This John Vick we refer to above is listed as having landed in Philadelphia, Pa. on September 27, 1786 from the ship " Patsey Rutledge " from Hamburg, Germany. The John Vick is listed in the 1790 census of Duplin Co., N. C. as having 1 male over 16, one male under 16 and two females. We assume this to mean that he has a wife and two small children. We think, perhaps, this Vick is the one that landed in Philadelpia. We know most of the Vicks migrated down into N. C. and thence elsewhere. We can't find any other data on this man in Pa. Do you have any suggestions as to where we may look for further details on this man ? Thank you for any consideration you may render. Robert D. Vick, Sr. ( Bob ) .

Hello out there! I'm looking for any connections to George Washington PRIDGEN, son of William and Margaret Pridgen, of Duplin Co., NC. George was born August 4, 1831, and around age 19, moved with his family to Telfair, later Coffee Co., GA, where he married Mary MERRITT. Does anyone know if William was the son or grandson of the William Pridgen who lived over 120 years or if he came from another line? Thanks in advance,

a#ALLENALLENa#BENNETTBENNETT posted by John Norman on Monday, February 22, 1999

I am looking for the Bennett's of Duplin County, and hope you can help. My gg grandfather was James Fletcher BENNETT, b c 1815 to 1818 -- depending on which census one uses. He moved to Alabama, Married Matilda ALLEN, and then Mississippi and had several children. I am looking for his parents and siblings, and believe him to be the son of Thomas BENNETT. You mentioned you had his will and I was wondering whether or not John was mentioned in the will. If not Thomas the only other one could have been John -- though that makes sense with the name. Both had children of the right age. Please let me know if this connects with what you have. I have a lot of info on john and his descendants. None of the cousins I know have been able to find the parents. Thanks a lot,
