They are: John, William, Isaiah, Henry, Nancy (who married Isaac Thagard), Sally (who married Isaac Jessup), Ann (who married Sampson Boon), Kitty (who married William Edge), Robert, Needham, Joseph, Semion and Harriet (who married Gurdon Thagard). Most lived in Cumberland and Bladen Co. and a couple went to MS. I have no information on two of the older sons, John and Isaiah, although one of Isaiah's sons was said to have lived in Duplin Co., NC. Will gladly share information.

I would appreciate help locating DAVID HUTCHISON and his family, possibly including WRIGHT HUTCHISON. David is my grandmother's great grandfather. He was a farmer and moved to FL sometime between 1845 and 1860. He and several of his children (but no wife) are listed in the 1860 census for Sumter Co, FL where the family farmed until the 1890s. His 2 eldest sons founght in the Civil War with the Tenth FL Infantry and their war records give their place of birth as Duplin County, NC. He is not on either the NC or FL census for 1850 as far as I can find. Also, there is a David HUTCHISON listed in the 1840 census index for Duplin County. Wright is listed in the 1830 census index but not David. David lived until he was in his 80s and 1805 is a current best guess for his year of birth. The children he fathered beginning in 1838 were Joseph, Lewis B. Lavinia, Huldah Ann, and Kate. The others appear to have been born in FL. The last child listed was born in FL in 1858 ! or 59. Since no wife is listed, it may be that she died giving birth or shortly thereafter. Her place of birth was NC but I have no other info about her and hope that the census will have at least some clues. I'd reeally appreciate it if someone would look up these Hutchisons in the census and make a copy of the info for me. I am new to genealogy and still trying to figure out how to get out-of-state info on a budget. I'd be happy to recriprocate with FL research. Thank you so much for any info you can give me!

I have some BLACKMAN links but mine go through John (c. 1670-1736) who married Elizabeth M. GOODE (1680-1724) in 1699. They moved from Henrico County, VA to Bertie County, NC. They had a son named Joseph Blackman (1724-1768) who married an Elizabeth LEE. They moved to Duplin County, NC. One of their daughter's named Mary (1758-bef. 1800) married a Francis HILL (1750-1800) in 1774. they settled in Sampson County, NC. This is where my HOBBS line comes in. Does anyone have links to these families?

Although the web page doesn't indicate it at the moment, one branch of this family (JEROME) moved from Union to Duplin County in the late 19th century. I just received some photographs of some of them, and thought it was time to register my name on the Duplin page.

John OATES is mentioned in a number of Deeds as selling land in Duplin and and other counties. Joseph OATES whom maybe his father witnessed these transactions. I am trying to locate evidence that may confirm this relationship perhaps in Duplin County. If there is anyone doing research on this family.
