I hope I'm posting this query to the right county. I'm looking for information on the HARDISON family -- specifically, Robert and Elizabeth HARDISON who had four children, Robert, Jack, Anne, John, b. 20 May 1943 at Pink Hill, NC. My background information is scanty, but I've been told Elizabeth d. before 1963 in an auto accident and that Robert, Sr. was deceased before about 1973. If I need to move into Lenoir County, please inform me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm doing this work for a 12 yr. old young lady who is interested in her family history, but who has little contact with her natural father.

Walter Raleigh BELL was born in Duplin County b.?..d.? where he was a merchant prior to enlisting in the Duplin County Confederate Amry at age 32. He was promoted to 1st Lt. on Feb.15, 1862 and then to Capt. on April 9, 1863. He served in the 51st N.C. Infantry Company B. He was mentioned in a report written by Col Hector McKethan for operations during the defense of "Battery Wagner". This is the same Battery Wagner from the movie "Glory". He was wounded in the left arm at Cold Harbor, Va. and ended up losing his arm. He settled in Warsaw, N.C. and married a Sarah HERRING. Latter on he became a Circuit Court Judge in Kenansville, N.C. This is my Great-Great Grandfather and beyond his Civil War information we have not too much. His home is still standing in Warsaw and is called the Jordan/Bell Home. Any information on him would be appreciated.

My mom, Katie Mae HATCHER SMITH, was born in Magnolia, Oct. 8, 1925. She is quite ill now and we both thought it would be a blessing to learn as much about her family as possible. Her mother died when she was not quite 5 years old, and as she understands it, is buried in Magnolia. Her name was Sally HATCHER, and she died from complications of childbirth. My grandfathers name was William Buckner HATCHER. Mom, along with her older brother William Emmett, and infant brother Leonard Kermit, were raised by her Aunt Kate. Her name was Kate HERRING of Warsaw. We believe her to be buried in Duplin County as well; quite possibly Warsaw. As I understand it she still has a granddaughter living in Warsaw by the name of Helen Jones, living in the family home on Center Street. If you can be of any assistance I would greatly appreciate it; as I have consistently hit stumbling blocks as to even the existence of this family in Duplin County. (Mom is always worried about the state of her mothers grave.) I also am trying to discover if my Aunt Mildred is buried in Duplin County as well. Her married name was Merritt. I am her namesake. Mom said Aunt Mildred died when she was very young, so she doesn't know much about the circumstances of her death. My blessings. Maggie.

RAWLINGS. He was born Nov. 13, 1839, in Halifax, NC, and died in MS in 1912.
He had sisters, Pauline, Jane, and Rebecca. I believe Rebecca married David

was killed in the Civil War (King's Mountain Battle) and was named Tom or
Thomas RAWLINGS. Their parents were Henry and Priscille MOODY RAWLINGS. I can

I am searching for information for Joseph Lewis JORDAN who resided in Warsaw, N.C. He was born in the mid to late 1800's and died sometime in the late 1800's to early 1900's. He is my g-grandfather. He was married to Daisey Dell BELL wo was the daughter of Capt. Walter Raleigh Bell (Company B, 51st N.C. Infantry Regiment. All of whom resided in the same home in Warsaw, N.C. I do have family still in Warsaw but dates of these ancestors seem to have slipped in time as memories fade. Any linkage or information would be extremely helpful to me.
