Looking for information on the QUINN family in Duplin County. The farthest back I have been able to trace my branch of this extensive family is to George Allen QUINN (26 Jun 1826 - 8 Mar 1890) of Albertson. Having checked the 1830 Federal Census, I know that there were several other QUINN families at the time; James (between 30-40 years old), David (between 60-70 years old - this guy fought in the Revolutionary war), Loftin (between 50-60 years old), Caleb (between 60-70 years old), and another Loftin (between 30-40 years old). Strangely enough, none of the QUINNs have any land records in Duplin County nor Marriage Banns in the records. George's wife was Sarah MOODY (8 Sep 1830 - 25 Aug 1894).

ODOM seeking information on the family ODOM which settled in the Great-Little Cohary area near Hornet Swamp (now in Sampson County). My oldest ancestor is Riley Odom, b. 1796...ten years after Sampson was split away from Duplin. However, searches of Sampson files have not provided any clues as to his parents. Have much Odom information to share, plus limited amount on STRICKLAND.
