Tuesday: Court met at 9 0'clock according to adjournment.
Present: Worshipfulls, WILLIAM HOUSTON, THOMAS ROUTLEDGE, CHARLES WARD,
WILLIAM BECK, ROBERT SOUTHERLAND, THOMAS JAMES.
Grand Jury sworn: JAMES MIDDLETON, foreman; JAMES EVENS, IVEY SMITH; JOHN
KITLEY; SAMUEL ALBERSON; ADAM REAVES; GEORGE KORNEGAY, THOMAS WRIGHT; EDWARD
ARMSTRONG; JOHN MATCHET; WILLIAM RIGBY; JONATHAN KITLEY; RICHARD BRADLEY;
JACOB GLISSON; THOMAS HEATH.
As ROBERT WILSON obtained a judgment agains JACOB TYSON in this Court for a
sum of money which he obtained on execution against said JACOB TYSON for same
with costs which was returned not satisfied and the said ROBERT WILSON since
1790 obtained another execution whidch was ___ to Sheriff of Anson County, for
same sum and costs and the said ROBERT WILSON now made oath that he sent said
execution to PLEASANT MAY, Sheriff of Anson County, said PLEASANT MAY
acknowledged that he had received said execution and in virtue thereof had
levied and collected the money of the said judgement and had failed to pay the
same, and the Clerk of this Court also doth certify that the said Sheriff hath
not made any return thereof into his office; Ordered said PLEASANT MAY,
Sheriff of Anson County, be _____ in the sum of 50 pounds unless he can show
cause at the next Term in October why he did not return said execution.
