Obituary of Zackie Brown ~ 1974

Zackie Brown, 72, 406 Stadium Drive, died in a local hospital Wednesday. 
He was a member of Bethel F. W. B. Church and was retired from the Kinston 
City Schools' maintenance department. 
He was the son of the late John and Emmie Howard Brown of Lenoir County. 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of Howard 
and Carter Funeral Home. Revs. Lloyd Barnett and David Paramore will 
officiate. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. 
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Reba Hardison Brown; three sons, Elwood 
of Lynchburg, Va., Bobby of Kinston and Lynwood Brown of Bishopville, 
S.C.; four brothers, Zeb and Braddock of Swansboro, Charlie of Bogue Sound 
and Albert Brown of Virginia; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Turner of Deep Run; 
and 11 grandchildren. 
The family will be at the home of his son, Bobby Brown, 1209 Dorcus 
Terrace. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p. m. Friday at the 
funeral home.
