Obituary of Wilma Lois Cavenaugh Garriss ~ 2006

Mrs. Wilma L. Garriss, age 80, of 615 East Church Street, Rose Hill, died 
Friday, February 3, 2006, at home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 
p.m. Monday at the Rose Hill Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. 
David Smith, Rev. Fred Pleasant and Rev. Jack Melvin will officiate. 
Burial will follow in Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Paul H. Garriss of the home; one daughter, 
Kay Garriss; and one son, Paul (Pete) Garriss, Jr., both of Rose Hill.
Mrs. Garriss was born in Duplin County. Her parents, the late Dulan and 
Lula Dixon Cvaenaugh; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Garriss; and three 
sisters, Thelma Etta Cavenaugh, Tate Chapman and Della Rooks all preceded 
her in death. Mrs. Garriss was a member of Rose Hill Pentecostal Freewill 
Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Lanny Batchelor, Anthony Darden, Rick Darden, John 
Stanley, John Perry and Colton Wells.
The family will receive at their residence, 615 East Church Street, Rose 
Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to 
Advantage Hospice & Home Care, 320 North East Blvd., Clinton, NC 28328.
