Willis H. Carter, 73, died December 8, 1992, at his home. Funeral service 
was December 10 at Johnson Funeral Home in Richlands with the Rev. Louise 
Wood presiding. Burial following in the Carter family cemetery near 
Richlands.
Survivors include his wife, Adell Futrell Carter of Richlands; two 
daughters, Peggy Mills of Regalwood and Sue Hice of Beulaville; two sons, 
Thomas Lee Carter, and Randy Carter, both of Chinquapin, three brothers, 
Edward M. "Mike" Carter of Richlands, Kenneth Carl Carter of Beulaville 
and Guy Carter of Missouri; and six sisters, Maria Whaley of Kernersville, 
Dallas Swinson and Mavis Hemby, both of Beulaville, Sadie Joy of 
Springfield, VA, Eleanor Schaefer of Vacaville, CA, and Lou Glenn of 
Clearbrook, VA.
