Obituary of William Franklin Maready ~ 2005

Mr. William Franklin Maready, age 88, of 230 Cypress Creek Road, 
Chinquapin, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at Duplin General Hospital 
in Kenansville. 
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Shiloh Baptist 
Church, Chinquapin. Rev. Dan Sellers and Rev. Norman Wheeler will conduct 
the service. 
Burial will follow in Amos Lanier Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Maready of the home; two sons, 
Harold Maready and wife Linda of Wallace and Charles Maready and wife Lucy 
of Raleigh; two brothers, P.A. Maready and Elbert Maready and wife 
Jeanette, all of Chinquapin; three granddaughters, Ann Maready Ray and 
Donna Maready, both of Raleigh, and Ashley Maready of Charlotte; two 
grandsons, Harold Maready Jr. and wife Sherry of Elizabeth City and Greg 
Maready and wife Geneva of Wallace; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer 
Ray of Raleigh and Mary Kate Maready of Wallace; one great-grandson, 
Matt Maready of Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Duplin County, Mr. Maready was the son of the late Percy Maready 
and wife Martha Batts Maready. One sister, Mrs. Hettie Edwards, and one 
brother, Elzie Maready, also preceded him in death. He was a charter 
member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Harold Maready Jr., Greg Maready, Morrison Maready, 
Michael Maready, Glenn Maready and Clayton Childs.
The family will receive from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Padgett Funeral 
Home and at their residence, 230 Cypress Creek Road, Chinquapin, other 
times.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 4587 
S. NC 50 Hwy., Chinquapin, NC 28521.
