Obituary of Walter Guy Cavenaugh ~ 1967

Wallace - Walter Guy Cavenaugh, age 61, of Rt. 2, Wallace, did Thursday 
night at his home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Cavenaugh was a farmer, and a native of Duplin County. He was a member 
of the Oakdale Penticostal [sic] Freewill Baptist Church. He was the son 
of the late Raleigh and Ellen Brown Cavenaugh.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Pinhook Church 
by the Rev. Bruce Bond and the Rev. Volney Bryan. Burial will be in the 
William Henderson Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Batts Cavenaugh of the home; a 
daughter, Miss Carolyn Cavenaugh of the home; three sons, Homer Guy, 
Leamond and Gene Cavenaugh, all of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Brown 
and Mrs. Myrtie Sholar, both of Wallace; seven brothers, Stephen Sidney, 
Fennell, Buell, and Adell Cavenaugh, all of Wallace, Cyrus Cavenaugh of 
Warsaw, and Carroll Cavenaugh of Magnolia; and 8 grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Vernie Cavenaugh, Elmer Cavenaugh, Delwood 
Cavenaugh, Earl Cavenaugh, James M. Cavenaugh, and Leo Cavenaugh.
The body will be taken from Edgerton Funeral Home Saturday to the 
residence, where it will remain until one hour prior to the service.
