Obituary of Virginia Westbrook Sloan, 1962

Virginia Westbrook Sloan

Final rites were conducted Sunday at 3:30 p. m. in Bermuda Hundred Methodist Church for 
Mrs. Virginia Westbrook Sloan of 404 Ramsey Ave., who died at her home early Friday morning.

The Rev. William E. Kelley, pastor, and the Rev. Henry Gibbons Ruark, who is Mrs. Sloan's 
nephew and the pastor of First Methodist Shurcvh[sic] of Rocky Mount, N. C. officiated.

Interment was in Appomattox Cemetry[sic], and pallbearers were Robert Sloan Carlon, Francis 
Gibbons Sloan, Jr., Binford Sloan 3rd, Dr. William F. Falls, Jr., Clinton Hepler, George Jones, 
Charles W. Beville and J. Raymond Belcher.

Note:  Virginia Westbrook Sloan was the spouse of Binford Sloan.  She was born in Faison, NC, 
on 21 Jul 1880, the daughter of John Samuel Westbrook and Sarah Frances Sloan.
