Wallace - Mrs. Vada Holmes Hanchey Cavenaugh, age 86, of Route 2, Wallace, 
died Wednesday afternoon in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the Northeast 
Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Billy Toler. 
Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery near Wallace.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Willie) Wells of Wallace and 
Mrs. Frank (Ruby) Holton of Richmond, Va.; three sons, R.C. Cavenaugh and 
Frank Cavenaugh both of Wallace and Sam Cavenaugh of Whiteville; two 
brothers, Albert C. Hanchey and Wilbert A. Hanchey both of Wallace; 19 
grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late 
Columbus and Julie Teachey Hanchey and the widow of Roland O. Cavenaugh.
Casketbearers will be Roland Cavenaugh, David Cavenaugh, Stewart Wells, 
Gary Wells, Jimmy Cavenaugh and Eddie B. Cavenaugh.
The family received at the Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:30 to 9 
p.m. Thursday and will be at the residence of Mrs. Cavenaugh, Route 2, 
Wallace other times.
The body will remain at the Edgerton Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Friday 
when it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to 
services.
