THOMAS FRYAR

     Thomas Fryar, aged 74, passed quietly from his home in Magnolia, N. C., on 28th
June 1903, and entered into the rest eternal which remained for the people of God.
     
     He came from one of the oldest families in Sampson County.  His mother was for
many years a well-beloved member of the church at Beulah.
     
     In 1858, Thomas made a public profession of faith in Christ and became a member
of the Presbyterian church.  In 1866, he married Martha, second daughter of John Durham
Carroll, Esq., and soon afterwards joined the Baptist church in Magnolia.  Of that church
he remained a member greatly honored and loved until his death.  His wife and three
children cherish the memory of a gentle and living spirit and a pure and beautiful life.
