Thelma Pierce Brunson, 86, wife of the late Bernie Ryan Brunson, died 
Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born June 13, 1918, in Chinquapin, N.C., she was a daughter of the late 
Corbett Thomas Pierce and the late Rosa Thelma Wood.
Mrs. Brunson was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a member of the 
Iris Chapter 149 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Brunson was retired 
from Tuomey Healthcare System.
Surviving are her three children, Rosa Geraldine "Gerry" Brunson of 
Sumter, Harold Ryan Brunson and wife Effie of Saugus, Calif., and Donald 
Pierce Brunson and wife Janice of Sumter; two sisters, Hazel P. Taylor of 
Jacksonville, N.C., and Sallie B. Snider of Columbia; one brother, Gene 
A. Pierce of Chinquapin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Brunson.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Elmore 
Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brunson Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill 
McCreight Funeral Home.
