Obituary of Sidney Aaron Cavenaugh ~ 1990

Mr. Sidney Aaron Cavanaugh, 5140 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, N.C., 
died Tuesday, May 1, 1990, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital.
Born in Richland [sic], N.C., on June 19, 1914, he was the son of the late 
Jim and Lucinda Foster Cavanaugh.
Mr. Cavanaugh served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member 
of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 329.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jerry M. Cavanaugh of the home; three sons, 
Jerroul Wade Cavanaugh of Rinco, Ga., Sidney Aaron Cavanaugh Jr. of 
Dallas, Texas, and James C. Matthews of Wilmington; three daughters, Mrs. 
Mollene Smith, Mrs. Jackie Ludlum and Mrs. Sharon Long, all of Wilmington; 
three brothers, James Cavanaugh of New Bern, N.C., Nick Cavanaugh of 
Jacksonville, N.C., and Elmer Cavanaugh of California; two sisters, Mrs. 
Erma Lewis of Alabama and Mrs. Nancy Woods of Florida; thirteen 
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 4, 1990, at 3 p.m. in 
Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by the Rev. Roland Dauphinais.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7 until 8 p.m. at Andrews 
Mortuary Valley Chapel and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Mollene 
Smith, 141 Stoney Brook Road, Ogden.
