Obituary of Rupert Clifton "Billy" Fountain ~ 2005

Rupert "Billy" Clifton Fountain, 84, of Jacksonville, died July 5, 2005, 
at Onslow Memorial Hospital due to an allergic reaction from a yellow 
jacket sting.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in 
Jacksonville with the Rev. Mike Turner, the Rev. Roy Parker and the Rev. 
Anthony Gurganus officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 
Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jere Wilson Fountain Jr. and 
Annie Cavenaugh Fountain.
Mr. Fountain was a sergeant first class with the U.S. Army and a member 
of the Merrill Marauders. He was owner and operator of Fountain's Auto 
Service for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia S. Fountain of the home; daughter 
Roberta A. Fountain of Richmond, Va.; brother Jere Fountain of Richlands; 
sister Frances McDowell of Spartanburg, S.C.; brother-in-law Starkey Shaw 
of Richlands and sister-in-law Carletta Eamon of Durham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building 
Fund, 1985 Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville, N.C. 28540.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, July 7, 2005, at 
Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
