Mrs. Cavenaugh Dies; Husband Is Stricken Also
Mrs. Rovene Quinn Cavenaugh, wife of A. L. Cavenaugh of Warsaw, died early
Monday morning in the Hospital at Virginia Beach after suffering a heart
attack a few hours earlier.
She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen Quinn of Beulaville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the
Warsaw Presbyterian Church by Rev. Norman Flowers. Burial was in Pinecrest
Cemetery there.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Jimmie Kitchin of
Virginia Beach, two grandchildren. Three sisters Mrs. J. S. Miller of New
Bern, Mrs. J. O. Miller of Kinston, and Mrs. Lula Quinn Parker of
Beulaville and a number of neices [sic] and nephews.
Returning home from Virginia Beach Mr. Cavenaugh suffered a coronary heart
attack in Murphreesboro [sic]. No doctor was in town. A Baptist preacher
rushed him to Ahoskie, the nearest hospital, where he is now. Dr. Ewers,
of Warsaw, went to see him Wednesday afternoon. He will stay in the
Ahoskie hospital a week or ten days, Dr. Ewers said, and then will be
brought to Kenansville or carried to the hospital at Virginia Beach. Dr.
Ewers said his condition seemed fairly good. Mr. Cavenaugh is in his early
sixties.
