Obituary of Richard Ray Futrell ~ 1962

Wallace - Funeral services for Richard Ray Futrell, 41, formerly of 
Chinquapin, will be held there Sunday at 2 p. m. in the Sharon Baptist 
Church. Dr. Jim Blackmore of Warsaw will officiate, and burial will be in 
the church cemetery.
Mr. Futrell, a native of Duplin county, died of a heart attack Wednesday 
in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he had lived for several years. He was employed 
with the General Electric Corporation there.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Rose Parker Futrell of Ohio; a son, 
Richard Ray Jr. of the U. S. Marines, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; a daughter, 
Sue, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Myrtie Futrell of Chinquapin; two 
brothers, Willie of Beulaville and Allen Futrell of Magnolia; six sisters, 
Mrs. Evelyn Scheel of Glenwood, Minn., Mrs. Lena Gerhardstein of 
Cincinnati, Mrs. Sarah Boykins of Wendell, Mrs. May L. Albertson of 
Beulaville, and Mrs. Eunice Hall and Mrs. Myrtle Wood, both of Rose Hill.
Visitation will be at the Norman Funeral Home in Wallace until an hour 
before the services, when the body will be taken to the church.
