Funeral Services Richard Futrell Held On Monday 

Richard "Dick" Futrell, aged 65, died at his home on Beulaville, Rt. 1, 
Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held from the Sharon Baptist Church in Chinquapin at 
three o'clock Monday afternoon. Officiating was the Rev. K. D. Brown of 
Burgaw. He was assisted by the Rev. Johnnie Durham of Wallace. 
Interment followed in the church cemetery. The body was taken to the 
church one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtie Batts; six daughters, Mrs. Frank 
Wood of Rose Hill, Mrs. Dick Scheel of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Jay Boykin 
of Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Walter Gerhardestin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Ben 
Hall of Ahoskie, Mrs. Mary Lillie Albertson of Beulaville; three sons, 
Allen of Magnolia, Willie and Ray Futrell, both of Beulaville; three 
brothers, Fennell, of Wilmington, Jim and Rudolph Futrell of Chinquapin; 
two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Brinkly and Mrs. Margie Parker, both of 
Chinquapin; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
