Wallace - Mr. Richard Lee Cavenaugh, age 68, of 417 South College Street 
in Wallace died Tuesday afternoon Oct. 1, at New Hanover Regional Medical 
Center in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. from the Wallace 
United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Claude Wilson and Rev. David 
Patterson. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Dickerson Cavenaugh; two daughters 
and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood (Sherry) Coombs and Mr. and Mrs. 
Herman (Beth) Fussell Jr., both of Wallace; one son and daughter-in-law, 
Mr and Mrs. Robert Forrest Cavenaugh of Wallace; three brothers, 
Norwood Cavenaugh and Duncan Cavenaugh, both of Wallace, and Willie H. 
Cavenaugh of Kernersville; four granddaughters, Miss Michelle Cavenaugh, 
Miss Amie Cavenaugh, Miss Susan Coombs and Miss Lauren Fussell, all of 
Wallace; three grandsons, Roger Lee Coombs, Braxton Fussell and John Tyler 
Fussell, all of Wallace.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Robert R. 
and Albert English Cavenaugh and was the owner of Willa's Flowers and 
Gifts, Inc., was a charter member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's 
Fellowship, a charter member of Gideons, International, a member of the 
American Legion Post #158 and a member of the Wallace United Methodist 
Church.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and will be at their residence 417 South College Street in Wallace at other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Thursday when it 
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
