Wallace - Raymond E. Cavenaugh, age 73, of 4736 S.N.C. 41, Wallace, died
Friday morning, July 23, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in W
ilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 25, from the Padgett
Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Willard Hardison. Burial will follow in
the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ludie Batts Cavenaugh; two daughters,
Mrs. Bobby (Jo Anne) Hall of Jacksonville, and Mrs. William Earl
(Charlotte) Gregory of Red Springs; three sons, Gordon Cavenaugh, Kenneth
Cavenaugh, both of Wallace, and Mike Cavenaugh of Newport; 13
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Claude
and Frankie Duff Cavenaugh and was a veteran of WWII, having served in
the U.S. Navy. He was a retired barber and farmer and was a member of
Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be: Ken Cavenaugh, Steve Cavenaugh, Dennis Cavenaugh,
Davey Cavenaugh, Ray Hall and Billy Gregory.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday and will be at their residence, 4736 S.N.C. 41, Wallace, other
times.
