Wallace - Rayford Hatcher Cavanaugh, 71, of Route 2 Wallace, died early 
Saturday following an apparent heart attack.
A native of Duplin County, he was a retired contractor and farmer, was a 
veteran of World War I and attended Northeast Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p. m. at his church by the Rev. 
J. E. Andrews, the Rev. A. H. Carter, and the Rev. Vance Rich. 
Burial will be in the family cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Batts Cavanaugh; two daughters, Mrs. 
Dovie Connelly of Reevesville, S. C., and Mrs. Elizabeth Simpkins of 
Jacksonville; a son, Donald Ray Cavanaugh of Rocky Mount; a brother, 
Offie Cavanaugh of Route 2 Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Bradshaw of 
Route 2 Wallace; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas, Earl and Stanley Cavanaugh, Johnny and Marion 
Bradshaw and Harvey Brinson.
The body will be at the home until an hour before services.
