Cavanaugh Rites Today 

Funeral services for Mrs. Penny Catherine Cavanaugh, 70, of Reynolds Park 
Road, Winston-Salem, Route 6, will be conducted this afternoon at 1 o'clock
at the home of a son, David Cavanaugh, 631 Goldfloss Street, and at 1:30 o'
clock at Pilgrim Holiness Church. Rev. C. C. McMasters and Rev. J. P. 
Crouch will officiate. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Mrs. Cavanaugh died at her home yesterday morning. She had been in 
declining health for some time and her condition had been serious for the 
past three weeks.
Born Sept. 10, 1874, in Onslow County, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Joe Carter. She had lived in Winston-Salem since 1932, residing prior to 
that time in Jacksonville. She was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Her husband, L. H. Cavanaugh, died Oct. 17, 1929.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Cranfill and Misses Lila and 
Carrie Cavanaugh, all of Winston-Salem; three sons, Walter and David 
Cavanaugh, both of Winston-Salem, and James Cavanaugh of Hanes; 52 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Carter, A. M. Walker, Ed Bouden, Phillip Crotts, 
E. B. Sage and T. E. Walker.
