Wallace - Offie Americus Cavenaugh, age 95, of Route 2, Wallace, died 
Monday morning at his residence after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Northeast 
Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Elbert 
Hollowell. Burial will follow in the Jacob Cavenaugh Cemetery near the 
home.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Cavenaugh and Earl Cavenaugh, both of 
Wallace; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and three step-
grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cavenaugh was the son of the late Jacob and 
Muttie Dail Cavenaugh. He was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier and 
was a member of the Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Larry Cavenaugh, Glen Cavenaugh, Nathan Cavenaugh, 
Ottis Cavenaugh, Floyd Cavenaugh, and Randy Turner.
The family will receive at the Edgerton Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. 
Tuesday and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cavenaugh, 
Route 2, Wallace, other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12 noon Wednesday, when it 
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.
