Obituary of Norma Chasten Wallace Dixon ~ 1986

Wallace - Mrs. Norma Wallace Dixon, 86, of 108 North Teachey Rd., Wallace, 
died Tuesday afternoon in New Hanover Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, after 
a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Edgerton Funeral 
Chapel conducted by Rev. Percy Heath. 
Burial will follow in Rockfish Cemetery near Wallace.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Eleanor) McGill of Wallace 
and Mrs. George (Polly) Osborne of Boone; two sons, Hubert Dixon of 
Wallace and Lenwood Dixon of Tarboro; seven grandchildren and 11 
great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late William 
C. and Nellie Mae Cavenaugh Wallace and the widow of Johnnie Dixon. She 
was a member of Teachey Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Joseph Wallace Jr., Ernest Dixon Jr., George Osborne 
Jr., Harry Brown, George McGill and John Franklin Wells.
The family received at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 
and will be at their residence in Wallace other times.
