Teachey - Mrs. Nettie Batts Cavenaugh, age 86, of Teachey, died early 
Sunday morning, June 8, 1997, at Guardian Care in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 1997, from the 
Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Willard 
Hardison and Rev. Elbert Hollowell. Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh 
Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Doris C. Brown and husband, 
Charles W. Brown of Rose Hill, Mrs. Patsy C. Lanier and husband, Stacy Lee 
Lanier of Lillington and Myrtle C. Norris and husband, George N. Norris of 
Teachey; two sons, Derald J. Cavenaugh and Gene Cavenaugh and wife, 
Dorothy M. Cavenaugh both of Teachey; eight grandchildren; eleven great-
grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late 
Lewis Jasper and Margaret Brice Batts. She was the widow of Herman Jackson 
Cavenaugh and was a member of the Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist 
Church.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday
and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. George N. NOrris, 2983 South 
N.C. 11, Teachey other times.
