Obituary of Myrtie Mae Batts Futrell ~ 1981

Wallace - Mrs. Myrtie Mae Batts Futrell, 85, died Thursday morning in
Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Sharon Baptist
Church in Chinquapin conducted by the Rev. Bill Altman, the Rev. Jerry
Kinlaw and the Rev. Jim B. Brinkley. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Myrtle W. Brown of Rose Hill, Mrs.
Eunice Hall of Wallace, Mrs. Mary Lillie Norris of Chinquapin, Mrs. Evelyn
Scheel of Hendersonville, Tenn., Mrs. Lena Gerhardstin of Cincinnati,
Ohio, Mrs. Sara Catherine Boykin of Wyndell; two sons, Willie M. Futrell
of Rose Hill and Allen Futrell of Magnolia; three sisters, Mrs. Frankie
Register of Beulaville, Mrs. Ruby Atkinson of Wallace, Mrs. Ruth Annie
Butler of Knoxville, Tenn.; 32 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late H.J. and Sara
Cavenaugh Batts and was the widow of Richard (Dick) Futrell. She was a
member of Sharon Baptist Church in Chinquapin.
Casketbearers will be J.S. Sandlin, Roy Sanderson, Johnnie Sanderson,
Bradley Sanderson, Pete Brinkley and D.C. Futrell.
The family will be at Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace from 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday and at the residence of Mrs. Eunice Hall, 209 West Clement St., in
Wallace at other times.
