Mrs. Lucy Foster Cavanaugh, 78, of 518 South Second St. died early Sunday 
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wade Everett, 2421 Jackson St., after a 
long illness.
She was born at Richlands, March 17, 1878, the daughter of the late Edward 
and Nannie Jarman Foster.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Cavanaugh of the home; six sons, 
M. B. of Dallace [sic (Wallace)], W. N. of Jacksonville, S. A. and E. T., 
both of Atlanta J. H. of New Bern, and Lt. Commander M. E. Cavanaugh, U. 
S. Navy, stationed at Honolulu; four daughters, Mrs. Wade Everett and Mrs. 
Henry A. Jordan, both of Wilmington, Mrs. J. J. Bland of New Bern and Mrs. 
T. E. Woods of Jacksonville, Fla.; 34 grandchildren and 30 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Coble Funeral 
Home Chapel by the Rev. Ray Collins. Burial will be in the family cemetery 
at Richlands.
