Obituary of Lucille Horne Marshburn ~ 1996

Mrs. Lucille Horne Marshburn of Wilmington, died Monday, April 1, 1996, 
in Davis Health Care Center.
She was born in Wilmington, N.C., on April 11, 1907, the daughter of the 
late Moses and Bettie Cavanaugh Horne, and was also preceded in death by 
her son, Dr. John L. Marshburn Jr.
Mrs. Marshburn was a lifelong member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. She 
was an accomplished pianist having played the piano at Wrightsboro Baptist 
Church for over 75 years. Mrs. Marshburn also played the piano for the 
Billy Graham Crusade on a Caribbean cruise.
Surviving are her son, Donald R. Marshburn and wife, Ann, of Hampstead, 
N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Betty M. Maynard and husband, Alan, of Wilmington; 
five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, William M. 
Horne and wife, Marian, of Pfafftown, N.C.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 1996, 
in the Wrightsboro Cemetery by Rev. Dr. Harvey Whaley, Rev. Mike Lewis 
and Rev. Jeff Nichols.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday night from 7 p.m. until 9 
p.m. at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel.
