Lucian J. Brown Dies at 38 

Lucian J. "Jackie" Brown, 38, formerly of Wallace, died Thursday night in 
Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin, Ga. from injuries suffered in 
an auto accident two years ago.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p. m. from Edgerton Funeral Chapel 
conducted by Rev. Dees. Burial was in the Murphy Cemetery in the Charity
Community.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Dorothy Brown of Roanoke, Ala.; two 
daughters, Miss Martha Frances and Miss Mary Jo Brown, both of Roanoke, 
Ala.; two sons, James Micheal and Jackie Brown of Roanoke, Ala. three
sisters, Mrs. B. J. Miller of Beulaville, Mrs. Carol Lobland of Havelock 
and Miss Hilda Brown of Wallace; three brothers, W. C. Brown, Marion Brown 
and Raeford Brown all of Wallace.
Active pallbearers were Joe W. Bland, Terry Brown, Ronald Rivenbark, 
Edward Judge, Rifton Cavenaugh and Dulan Murray.
The family was at the residence of W. C. Brown at Tin City. Visitation was 
made at Edgerton Funeral Home until the hour of the funeral.
A native of Duplin County, Lucian James "Jackie" Brown was the son of the 
late Lucian R. and Rosa Lee Southerland Brown, and he had made his home in 
the Wallace community for many years prior to the early 1950's, when he 
entered the U. S. Army. Prior his illness, he had made his home in Alabama 
for several years.
