Obituary of Louise Jones Rogers -- 2007

SURRY - Louise Jones Rogers passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. 
She was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Faison, N.C., to James Henry and Minnie Mae 
Jones.

Louise was a former peninsula resident for more than 70 years and a Surry 
resident since 1999. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Grace Baptist Chapel, Hampton.
She was preceded in death by Paul B. Rogers, her husband of 53 years; her son, 
Roger C. Rogers; brothers and sisters, Jasper, Willis, Sam, James, Virt, 
Vinnie, Olivia, Kate, Mary and Nellie.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia R. Summerfield and her husband, 
George, of Surry; grandsons, Steven K. Summerfield and his wife, Juanita, of 
Yorktown and A. Wayne Summerfield and his wife, Jan, of Hayes; daughter-in-
law, Christianne Parr Rogers of Poquoson; and her baby sister, Reba Sutton of 
Mount Olive, N.C.

The family will receive friends 1 p.m. Friday at Peninsula Funeral Home 
followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service conducted by Pastors Jack Hamilton and 
Charles Taylor. Interment will take place in Peninsula Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may take the form of contributions to Grace Baptist Chapel, 
805 Todds Lane, Hampton, VA 23666.
