Rose Hill - Mrs. Lela Ellen Blanton Wallace, age 81, of Route 2, Rose 
Hill died early Monday morning at New Hanover Regional Medical Center 
in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, from 
the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace conducted by Rev. Elbert Barrow, 
Rev. Wade Pope, Rev. Dwayne Henshaw and Rev. Randy Cowan. 
Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Eleanor) Brinkley of 
Chinquapin and Mrs. Betty Sue Cavanaugh of Jacksonville; three sons, 
Frank Wallace and wife Ruth of Albertson, J.C. Wallace & wife Phyllis 
of Wilmington and Dulan Wallace and wife Mary of Rose Hill; three sisters, 
Mrs. Louise Norris of Burgaw, Mrs. Evelyn Fryar of Clinton and Mrs. Mary 
Gurba of New Bern; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Born in Guilford County, Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of the late William 
Council and Neta Hobbes Blanton. She was the widow of Adrian Halsa Wallace 
and was a member of the Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Mrs. Wallace's grandsons Jonathan Wallace, Charles 
Wallace, Chasten Wallace, David Wallace, Robert Wallace and Joey Brinkley, 
Kent Brinkley, Joseph Wallace and Timothy Wallace.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday 
and will be at Mrs. Wallace's residence, Route 2, Rose Hill other times.
