Obituary of Leatha Casteen Cavenaugh ~ 1985

Wallace - Mrs. Leatha Casteen Cavenaugh, 74, of Rt. 2, Wallace, died 
unexpectedly Sunday afternoon in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Pin Hook Pentecostal 
Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jonah Swinson. 
Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery at Pin Hook.
She is survivedy by three daughters, , Mrs. Jesse (Deen) Smith and Mrs. 
Charlie (Nadine) Hall, both of Wilmington, and Mrs. Herman (Allean) Craft 
of Wallace; three sons, Vernie Cavenaugh of Newport and Elmer Cavenaugh 
of Wallace; her stepmother, Mrs. Sinnie Casteen of Wallace; three sisters, 
Mrs. Lillie Henderson, Mrs. Libby Dail and Mrs. Nelma Gray, all of 
Wallace; three brothers, Elwood Casteen and S.D. Casteen, both of Wallace, 
and Garland Casteen of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the late 
Stephen D. and Eva Henderson Casteen. She was the widow of Sidney 
Cavenaugh and was a member of Pin Hook Freewill Pentecostal Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Wendell Gray, Craig Gray, Leon Craft, Rickie 
Henderson, Randy Henderson and Leamon Cavenaugh.
The family received at the Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace from 7 to 9 
p.m. Monday and will be at their residence, Rt. 2, Wallace, other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when it 
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour before the service.
