Wallace - Kirby Smith Rogers, 73, of Rt. 2, Wallace, died Friday in Pender 
Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.
He was a native of Duplin County, son of the late Charlie and Mary 
Cavenaugh Rogers.
He was a retired farmer, and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Violet Futrell, Mrs. Evelyn 
Stallings, both of Wallace, and Mrs. Louise Deitz of Castle Hayne; nine 
sons, Ralph, Daril, and Roy, all of Wallace, Elmo, of Charleston, S. C., 
Thomas, of El Toro, Calif., Kirby Jr., of Anaheim, Calif., Clarence, of 
the U. S. Coast Guard at Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., Lloyd, of Garden City, Ga., 
and David, with the U. S. Army in Vietnam; a sister, Mrs. Emma Padgett of
Wallace; two brothers, John, of Elizabeth City, and Heath, of Goldsboro; 
twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of David from 
Vietnam, and will be announced by the Edgerton Funeral Home.

Wallace - Kirby Smith Rogers, 73, of Rt. 2 Wallace, died Friday in Pender 
Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. from the Edgerton Funeral 
Chapel , by the Rev. J. D. Brown. Burial with military honors will be in 
Carter Cemetery, Rt. 2 Wallace.
Active pallbearers will be Ronald Rivenbark, George Price Jr., Terry 
Rivenbark, William Norris Jr., Donald Rivenbark, Allen Earl Rivenbark.
