Last Rites For J.J. Cavenaugh 

Aged North East Man Succumbed Saturday Following Brief Illness 

Funeral services for Joseph J. Cavenaugh, 74, who passed away at his home 
in the North East section on last Friday following a brief illness, were 
held from the North East Free Will Baptist church on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. 
Rev. A. H. Carter, a former pastor of the Church, conducted the last rites 
assisted by Rev. K. D. Brown, pastor, and Rev. Edward Anderson, a former 
pastor. Interment followed in the Cavenaugh cemetery.
The deceased, who had spent his entire life in the North East community, 
was a man of sterling character and was well known and highly regarded 
throughout this section of the County.
Surviving is the widow, five sons and one daugthter Claude, Robert R., 
Joseph, Paul and Herman Cavenaugh and Miss Sallie Cavenaugh, all of whom 
reside in the North East community.
