Obituary of Jessie Jasper Lanier ~ 1976

Beulaville - Jessie Jasper Lanier, 65, died Wednesday in Guardian Care 
Nursing Home in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Edgerton 
Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. George Pike officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Nick Fountain Cemetery in Fountaintown.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Edwards of Chinquapin; three sons, 
T-Sgt. Donald Lanier, U.S. Air Force, Ft. Worth, Tex., Staff Sgt. Phil S. 
Lanier, U.S. Army in Germany and Danny F. Lanier of Hampton, Va.; six 
sisters, Mrs. Ray C. Brown, Mrs. Maria Mercer, Mrs. Lizzie Sandlin, all of 
Beulaville, Mrs. Theoir Marshburn of Richlands, Mrs. Edna Earl Sitzer of 
Landler and Mrs. Edeline Thompson of Pine Level; two brothers, Leslie C. 
Lanier and Albert Lanier, both of Beulaville; 10 grandchildren; one great-
grandchild.
A native of Duplin County, he was the son of the late Spice and Kate 
Maready Lanier, and was a retired plumber and farmer.
