Mrs. J. R. Rackley Funeral Held at Charity Thursday 

She Died At Her Home Wednesday Night Following A Brief Illness. 
She Was The Daughter Of The Late David William And Mary Jane Rouse. 

Mrs. Janie Rouse Rackley, 66, died at her home near Rose Hill, on last 
Wednesday night at 11:20 o'clock. She had been seriously ill for five 
weeks following a stroke of paralysis which left her practically helpless.
Mrs. Rackley was the daughter of the late David William and Mary Jane 
Rouse of Duplin county, and she had spent her entire life in Duplin county.
She is survived by here husband, C. P. Rackley, of the home, one adopted 
son, Pvt. David R. Rackley of Los Angeles, California, three brothers, A. 
J., W. J., and Carson Rouse of Rose Hill, two sisters, Mrs. Ludie English 
and Mrs. Florence Carter of Wallace and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at Charity Methodist Church Thursday 
afternoon at 5 o'clock by her pastor the Rev. C. T. Rogers. 
Burial followed in the Clay Hill Cemetery.
She was a faithful member of Charity Methodist Church, and her cheerful 
and loving dispostion had won for her a host of friends, both white and 
colored.
Pallbearers were nephews, nieces served as flower girls.
