Obituary of James B Cavenaugh ~ 1958

James B. Cavanaugh, retired contractor, 2421 Jackson Street, died Friday 
at the Cape Fear Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Coble Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Ray Collins and the Rev. A. T. Greene Jr and the Rev. Jack 
Newsome. Burial will be in the Cavanaugh cemetery near Richlands.
Cavanaugh was born at Richland [sic], January 16, 1872, the son of the 
late William P. and Ann Jarman Cavanaugh. His wife, Mrs. Lucienda Foster 
Cavanaugh, died Feb. 3, 1957.
Survivors include six sons, M. B. Cavanaugh, Wallace; W. N. Cavanaugh, 
Jacksonville; J. H. Cavanaugh, New Bern; S. A. Cavanaugh, Baton Rouge, 
La.; E. T. Cavanaugh, Durham, and Lt. Commander M. E. Cavanaugh, Honolulu; 
four daughters, Mrs. T. E. Woods, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. J. J. Bland, New 
Bern; Mrs. H. A. Jordan, and Mrs. W. J. Everett, both of Wilmington; 35 
grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
