Obituary of James Bryant Carter ~ 1970

Richlands, Aug. 27 -- James Bryant Carter, 72, of Beulaville, died 
Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday from 
Johnson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank H. Cockrell officiating. 
Burial will be in the Carter family cemetery. 
Surviving are his wife, Grace L. Carter of the home; eight daughters, Mrs. 
Hubert Thompson, Mrs. Gordon Hemby, Mrs. Elwood Whaley and Mrs. Lloyd E. 
Swinson of Jacksonville, Mrs. Eddie Dodson, Mrs. Bill Joy and Mrs. Donnie 
Beatty of Arlington, Va. and Mrs. Jimmie Shaeffer of California; four 
sons, Willis H. of Beulaville, Edwood M. of Richlands, Kenneth E. of 
Hollywood, Fla. and William G. Carter of Germany; two sisters, Mrs. 
Effie T. Straugham of Beulaville and Mrs. Etta Carter of Kenansville; 32 
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
