Obituary of Isabelle Rose Carter ~ 1992

Funeral for Mrs. Isabelle Carter, 98, of Greensboro Health Care Center, 
who died Aug. 8, 1992, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hanes-Lineberry 
Vanstory Street Funeral Home. 
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A native of Wilson, she was a retired switchboard operator with Wesley 
Long Community Hospital, a private music teacher, a member of Glenwood 
United Methodist Church, a member of the church circle, a member of the 
P.B.X. Switchboard Operators Club, a member of the American Business 
Women's Association, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United 
Transportation Union, Lodge #779, a member of Greensboro Chapter 14, 
Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #51, a 
member of the V.F.W. George Preddy Lodge, Ladies' Auxiliary, a member 
of the Young at Heart Club, the 60 Plus Club and the Golden Years Club. 
She also attended Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, 
now UNCG, where she studied music.
Surviving are sons, Jack T. Carter of Troutman, Leon Howard Carter of 
Wilmington; daughter, Ellen Carter Kellam of Greensboro; sister, Eula 
Mae Alford of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 
one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church, 
1417 Glenwood Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27403, or to the charity of the 
donor's choice.
