Wallace -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Catherine Sholar James, 84, of
Route 2, Wallace, who died Thursday at her home, Funeral services were
conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Norman Memorial Chapel by the REv. David
F. Cox, the Rev. K. D. Brown of Burgaw and the Rev. S. A. Smith of
Beulaville. Burial was in James family cemetery at Cyprus Creek.
She was a native of Duplin County and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Almond James and Mrs. T. G. Raynor,
both of Route 2, Wallace, Mrs. Charles Humphreys of Gainesville, Ga.;
three sons, Roe of Route 2, with whom she made her home, Roland James of
Route 2 and H. Kellam James of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Mathie J.
Sholar of Route 2; sixteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Roe James. She was a lifetime resident
of the Pinhook Community.
