Wallace - Mr. Hubert Wallace Dixon, 69, of Wallace died unexpectedly
Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Transfiguration
Catholic Church of Wallace, conducted by Father Tom Tasber.
Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Angelene Pinyatello Dixon of the home;
two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Sheryl) Teachey of Rose Hill and Mrs. Ronnie
(Beth) Rich of Teachey; one son, John M. Dixon of Wallace; two sisters,
Mrs. Eleanor D. McGill of Wallace and Mrs. Polly D. Osborne of Boone;
one brother, Lenwood Dixon of Tarboro, and six grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Dixon was the son of the late Johnny and
Norma Wallace Dixon. He was the retired owner and operator of Dixon Tire
and Gas in Wallace and he was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic
Church of Wallace.
Casketbearers will be Luke Clemmons, George Osborne, Steve Sloan, Joe
Scronce, Bobby Batts and Dwight Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Lloyd
Boone, Gentry Jones, Billy Holland, Wayne Rackley, Haywood Cottle, Jimmy
Powell, Joe Bryant, Tom Chewning, C.J. Caproni and Al Smith.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7 to 9
p.m. Monday and will be at their residence Highway 117 North in Wallace
other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when
it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the
service.
