Horace Byrd, 72; funeral will be Monday 

Horace Byrd, 72, of Morehead City, died Thursday at Sunrise Care and 
Rehabilitation, Morehead City.
His funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Munden Funeral Home with Barry 
Humphrey and Ken Newsom officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Cemetery in Pink Hill.
Mr. Byrd was employed with Ray Willis Jr. Landscaping and retired from 
Stewart and Everett Theaters in Morehead City.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Blonnie Mae Byrd; a daughter, Cora Starling 
Brown of New Bern; three sons, Robert "Bobby" Brown of Cove City, Durwood 
Ray Byrd of New Bern and Tony Lee Byrd of Beaufort; a stepdaughter, 
Virginia Reel of Morehead City; a stepson, Robin Wetherington of Morehead 
City; three sisters, Carol Byrd DeBerry, Lady Byrd Aldridge and Agnes Byrd 
Carney, all of Beaufort; two brothers, Tommy Byrd of Kinston and Clifton 
Brown of Pink Hill; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Munden Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 
Morehead City.
