Wallace - Hermon Jackson Cavenaugh, 66, of Route 1, Teachey, died early
Wednesday morning at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. from the Northeast
Pentacostal [sic] Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Conert,
Rev. K. D. Brown, Rev. A. C. Wheeler and Rev. Vance Rich.
Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nettie Batts Cavenaugh; three daughters, Mrs.
Charles Brown of Rose Hill, Mrs. Stacy Lanier Jr. of Dunn, and Mrs. Kent
Brown of Teachey; two sons, Derald and Gene both of Teachey; one sister,
Mrs. Sally McClung of Wallace, three brothers, Joe, Paul, and Waitus of
Wallace; and nine grandchildren.
Cavenaugh, a native of Duplin County, was the son of the late Joseph and
Patsy Mallard Cavenaugh. He was a retired barber and a member of the
Northeast Pentacostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be Raymond Cavenaugh, Ronald Batts, Phillip
McClung, Joseph Cavenaugh, Billy Cavenaugh, and Duncan Cavenaugh.
Visitation will be at Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace until 1 p.m.
Thursday when the body will be taken to the church.
